Frequently Asked Questions

You’ve got questions, We’ve got answers.

Where should I place my trash can?

Your trash can wheels should be facing away from the street, and the can itself should have 3’ of clearance for our automated arm to pickup, dump and return your curbside can.

Do you currently service my address?

We’re growing RAPIDLY throughout the Eastern Panhandle. As we manage this growth spurt, we’re also expanding our fleet! That means that while we may not have residential service for you yet, we’re working on it!

Inquire for service and as soon as we fulfill a service truck to your area, we will notify you about account setup!

Whats the cost for basic, weekly curbside pickup for my home?

Thats easy! Service is just $23 a month, including a FREE trash can. Best of all? We don’t require quarterly contracts!

Is there a discount for switching from Apple Valley Waste?

We don’t really consider it a “discount” – but our prices are competitive in comparison to Apple Valley Waste and yield roughly a 10% savings on weekly service.

How much is the cost of the trash can?

Your first can is included in your service rate. Additional cans are $10 per can (to cover delivery).

What if I have my own trash can?

You’re still entitled to a new Panhandle Dumpster can.

What if my trash can is stolen or damaged?

We cover all normal wear and tear on your trash cans and will replace them at no additional cost to you. If your trash can is stolen or damaged beyond normal wear and tear, there will be a $75 charge.

Can the trash inside of the bin be loose, or does it need to be in trash bags?

We prefer that all trash be confined to trash bags to help ensure we’re keeping our neighborhoods clean by minimizing loose trash, but we also understand that sometimes it doesn’t make sense to bag something. For that reason, we do not require that all trash within the bin be bagged, we just ask that you help us deliver timely service by bagging small items.

Will you pick up loose trash outside of my can?

Absolutely! When it comes to things like spring clean-outs, we know that you will sometimes have additional bags that wont fit in your curb-side can(s). We’ll pickup all loose bags at a flat-rate of $1 per bag ($5 minimum).

Do you accept yard waste in residential pickup service?

We do not accept yard waste (branches, clippings, leafs, etc) in our regularly scheduled pickups. To have yard waste disposed of, please contact us and we will coordinate a roll-off dumpster or bulk pickup for anything you need hauled away.

What do I do with my larger items (appliances, furniture, etc) that I need to dispose of?

We offer (1) free bulk item on the first Monday of every month. All bulk pickups MUST be scheduled in advance! Bulky items include ovens, stoves, microwave ovens, dishwashers, washing machines, clothes dryers, bicycles, furniture, waste tires off the rim (less than 16’’ in diameter), and other items that are too large or too heavy to be placed inside a regular trash bag. Now accepting AC units, refrigerators, automotive parts, and more! E-waste items include laptops, tablets, home computers, computer monitors, and/or anything with a screen measuring more than 4’’ diagonally can be disposed of for a nominal charge of $20.00 per item. All items must be placed within 3’ of the roadside or curb.

If I decide to cancel my service, will there be a cancellation fee?

No. We don’t have any contract terms for service and don’t charge you fees when you need to terminate service. The only thing we ask is that all trash cans be returned or picked up within two weeks of cancelling your service. Unreturned trash cans will result in a $75 fee.

Can I start my service half-way through the month?

Absolutely! We will prorate any new accounts to accommodate the unused weeks of service.

Do on-route customers have the option to temporarily suspend service when they are not in town?

Unfortunately, not at this time but we are looking into management tools that will allow us to implement systems for pausing service.
